Heaven

mood:
happy
music: The Boss
is an empty apartment, some lightly seared tuna with a cayenne and red wine reduction, a glass of wine, and jeopardy followed by great songs you know all the words to at very high volumes while reading unusual wikipedia articles. In a few hours, my 5 year old niece will be here and I will make her stay up all night dancing to old Beatles songs that her Dad doesn't expose her to because he's a stupid jerk who doesn't know perfect pop when he hears it.
How about you?
How about you?

Help us!

Gosia and I found an amazing new place that's absolutley perfect, but our current landlords don't seem to want to let us out of our lease easily. Anyone interested in taking it over for three months or signing on for a full year? $639 for a one bedroom with washer/dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, second floor balcony, central heat and a/c. 3 minutes from the lindenwold train station to philly and ac. The only downside are our downstairs neighbors who like to blast hip hop in the early evenings.

My Dog is dying...

Blood in his vomit and poop according to my folks. I'm going to the vet with him tonight where they'll probably kill him.

What an unhappy weekend

First I injured my right wrist playing Metroid Prime in anticipation of the Nintendo Wii release. I can barely turn it! I have to use my left hand to turn my car keys. Then I missed out on getting a Wii because I thought I'd be able to get one without camping out by selectively picking more out of the way or inconspicuous stores. Then we went to Renault Winery for a reception tour and we decided it wouldn't work. It looked great, but no liquor in the room we liked (and only bottled beer) and space issues during the reception and a number of other things made it a waste of time. Well, not a waste cause now we know, but still. Then I find out I gotta dump $450 or so into my car because the tiny little exhaust joint under my car that has a hole in it can only be gotten from the dealer and I need new brakes. So while I suppose it's good that I didn't get the Wii cause I need to get these car repairs, it still sucks.
I wanna go home and play Metroid.

Lame, right? I know, I know... But it should be cool, I think. We'll have any and all relevant info about the wedding or whatever as it comes (which means it'll likely remain dormant for at least a few months) and then, after the wedding, people will be encouraged to blog about the wedding there and upload the contents of the disposable digital cameras everyone will be given.
It should rule, I think.

A Good Weeknight

You just need to blow off whatever productive bullshit you had planned for the evening and just get just a bit drunk on your favorite beer (cause what's a few bucks extra for a six pack?!) all by yourself and play all the five-star songs in your iTunes library at a volume that would definitely be considered disruptive to your neighbors while sitting around in your undershirt belting along at the top of your voice till your throat goes all crackly. AM I RIGHT?!? HUH/!? AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT?@!$?
A sweetheart in the next room who can occasionally shout lewd, obscene, or just plain obnoxious things at in regular intervals is a plus, but not a requirement.
SING IT EVERYBODY:
PEOPLE TRYYYY TO PUT US D-DOOOOOWWWNNNN!!!
Just becauuuuse we get arrooooouunnnd....
THINGS THEY DO LOOK AWFUL C-C-COOOOOLD!!
Hope I die before I get ooooollllld.....
Gosia doesn't understand. She's telling me to turn it down. But you understand, don't you? Yes. I'll turn it down when the Who is done doing their thing. It's the right thing to do.

I hate when people just post lyrics, but c'mon... how can these not completely melt your heart? An amazingly good song, too. One of my all-time favorites. Download it here.

WHEN YOU SHOULD BE OUT VOTING!! NJ is in the middle of one of the most hotly contested races in the Senate. Menendez is a shmuck, for sure, but don't let pro-Bush, pro-war, gay-bashing, anti-stem-cell, anti-environment, anti-worker, son-of-a-rich-politician Kean get a seat.
And if you live in Philly, HOLY FUCK DON'T LET SANTORUM WIN!! That dude sleeps with dead babies AND I'M NOT EVEN REMOTELY KIDDING!!!

Mokume Gane metallurgy

SO COOL. It's apparently a metalcraft invented during fuedal japan to give sword hilts a wood-grain. It is also quite expensive. The ring I'd want (which also has a red gold lining! SO COOL!) would be about two grand. Which is and absurd amount of money to spend on a wedding band.
Damnit.
